Canadian Mike Weir made a statement Thursday that he belongs in the 2010 FedEx Cup Playoffs.
The Bright’s Grove, Ont., native shot a three-under-par 70 in the opening round at Sedgefield CC in Greensboro , N.C.
The lefthander is one spot out of the top 125 cut line and must finish within the top 10 at the Wyndham Championship to get into the playoffs.
Weir has not finished inside the top 10 since he placed sixth at the Bob Hope Classic in January.
